A few good sales, Amazon and otherwise:

A sponsored thing: Good Bacteria

Your gut thrives on diversity, but most probiotics deliver the same strains on repeat, which is exactly the problem Good Bacteria was designed to solve. This rotating symbiotic system introduces a new weekly formulation of pre-, pro-, and postbiotics, mimicking the microbial variety found in nature to "rewild" your gut and build real, lasting resilience. Developed with scientists from Johns Hopkins, Stanford, and Oxford, it's the supplement upgrade your microbiome has been waiting for. Use code THINGSIBUY for 20% off your first purchase.

  • I love a mega-moisturizing eye mask for travel when I’m winding down for bed. I have too much of a rationing mentality with them (despite being a beauty writer, riddle me that) so my solution is vacay-only. It works!

  • This Apple Watch is 50% off. Mine’s been telling me to stand up more throughout the day for 10 years. I can’t live without it.

  • This nighttime KBeauty skincare mask is a massive best seller on Amazon and it’s under $15 during the sale.

  • The Dyson Airwrap is on rare discount: 23% off.

  • And on the Dyson tip, the Dyson vacuum I use multiple times daily is 25% off, so now’s the time to snag one.

  • Layer code SHOPMY15 to get an additional 15% off the shorts version of the Rag & Bone sweatpants jeans in my regular rotation. Once you go Miramar, you never go back. These are a longtime TIBAAC best seller.

  • One of my go-to Korean lip stains is now under $9, 48% off.

  • Spend $75 on EltaMD’s site, and get a free mini UV Restore tinted sunscreen.

  • Speaking of, this is another favorite tinted sunscreen for summer, with enough tint for my 40s skin, is on sale for 15% off.

  • The best full-cover face and body makeup is 25% off and available in a bunch of shades.

ICYMI:

Later this week, I’m headed to the Hamptons for few days with my fam to stay at one of my favorite places. I haven’t been to the area since pre-COVID, which is a wild turn of events. I’d go for at least a week every summer to stay with my longtime friend Amber, (I know, it was even weirder when we were college roommates for 3 years with the same name) who has a home there. Though the weather looks iffy, I’ll take any time seaside I can snag. Until then, it’s going to be a busy week with lots of DoorDash while I attack these deadlines.

Here’s what I’m packing.

My Away Bigger Carry-On Flex is my go-to for everything from weekend jaunts to up to a week. It’s the smallest I can go, even for a weekend, because you and I both know my products take up a third of my bag real estate.

I always bring my favorite Ruti pants I wear constantly, for the car ride, then dressed up for dinner.

I found the end-all-be-all of leave-in conditioners with heat protectant, and it’s It’s a 10 Leave-In Lite. What’s funny is that I’ve used the non-lite version for years, and I like it, but wasn’t loyal to it. I also don’t think of myself as someone who’d need a lite version of a leave-in conditioner. My hair is THIRSTY. So please explain to me why this formula gives me massive hydration, moisture, and glossiness that far exceeds the original formula? I wouldn’t have even discovered that this is so phenomenal for my dry, color-treated hair until I used it on my two year-old son. He has inherited my exact hair texture (and my current natural hair color) and was waking up with hilarious bedhead from naps, from sleep. I’d have to wet his head and use flyaway gel wand (P.S. these are EVERYTHING for boy mom life) multiple times a day, which he loathed. UNTIL this! Why it took me so long to realize he needs some product in the wet phase, I’ll never know. I sprayed a little on his wet, post-bath toddler hair and it’s smooth, shiny, and perfect until the next wash. This stuff keeps our frizz at bay.

Let’s talk about the TAD Beauty Lash Kit You know what? I’m actually NOT packing this because I’m getting a good two weeks out of these and I’m going to do an application just prior to leaving. Disclaimer: This is a new copy client of mine I’m working on a project for, but we don’t gatekeep here (haven’t since 2006, when I couldn’t stop telling the auditors at PricewaterhouseCoopers—male and in their 50s—about the products I was living for). They’re 3D-printed lash extensions that have memory, so they spring back into shape. Even after sleeping on your face. Even after cramming your face into a massage cradle. That always spelled the end of any lash extensions, DIY or otherwise for me. And the GLUE. Lashify’s would peace out if I even looked at it the wrong way. This set includes a two-sided glue; one side for you (your lashes), the other side for TAD (the lash extension). You use the little sticky strip to put them down, apply a thin line of glue to the base, then put them on with the small tweezers included in the kit. These work so much better for me, as well. The glue never irritates my sensitive eyes and the clamp works perfectly. There’s also a lash curler that helps revive your lashes throughout the week. Mine are going on eight days so far, a record.

More on the hair tip, I just saw that ColorWow makes tiny bottles of its genius juice, Dream Coat, and it’s the perfect on-the-go blowout help for Montauk’s seaside situation.

Being a beauty writer means forgetting about things that were absolute staples for years in pursuit of better—when the OG is sometimes the best you’ve ever had. I recently brought Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer back into the fold and am thrilled. Mix it with a tinted sunscreen and apply it with a brush for the best skin of your life.

My son, who won’t eat a vegetable unless it’s pureed in a pouch, is actually eating straight-up zucchini these days, and I owe it all to Root Foods. Turns out, when it’s in dry snack form, he’s into it. He’s now downing at least a zucchini a day and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’m also into the Six Mix for me, which features more vegetables. I’m bringing bags and bags of these for the car ride.
